As Vice President of Finance, Kim manages the firm’s investor relationships and preparation of our financial reporting, making sure all quarterly and annual requirements are met with her trademark precision. In other words, Kim is all business. And for good reason. After earning her B.S. in Accounting from Brigham Young University, Kim has enjoyed what has been an amazing 17-year career in venture capital and private equity – and she’s showing no signs of slowing down.
Kim started in San Jose, CA as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche, where she was able to audit the construction of commercial satellites at Space Systems Loral (not to mention a handful of pre-bubble tech companies). It was during those early years, while witnessing the technology boom in the Silicon Valley firsthand, that Kim became acquainted with the venture capital industry. Soon thereafter, she found herself on a career path that led to such firms as TeleSoft Partners, Legacy Venture, Legacy Works Foundation, Partnership Capital Growth Advisors and, ultimately, to Pelion Venture Partners.
Beneath the surface, though, there’s much more to Kim than an impressive resume. Take, for instance, her favorite diversion: spending time with her husband and two boys. All of whom share Kim’s love of being in the water. Swimming pools, lakes, oceans – even large puddles. And when they’re not swimming, you can probably catch them enjoying the outdoors. At such National Parks as Yosemite in California and Grand Teton in Wyoming. Add it all up (if you’ll pardon the math lingo) and it’s pretty clear that Kim is perfectly conditioned to meet the demands of an industry that moves almost as fast as she does.
